Firewalls: a firewall is a piece of software or hardware that filters all of the network traffic between computers, networks or the inter net, a firewall is part of the computer or network to block unauthorized access while its active, it also denies access, encrypt decrypt or proxies anything coming in or going out, a firewall can be software or hardware or both it can also be a set of rules that govern what data is allowed or denied, depending on the type of firewall certain things will be blocked .firewalls also have drawbacks the main one is cost , this usually determines the quality of the firewall, the firewall cannot protect against attacks that bypass the firewall these are usually dial attacks or internal attacks, it also cant scan virus infected files or programs or emails, firewalls also check packets and codes on domains, most attacks are due to human error usually the error of turning off the firewall to download an item, fire walls aren’t made of fire
